Hi, I always collect the clippings on the first mow of the year because it tends to be a lot & it browns. After that, I have a hover mower, which I cut the grass with once every week or two then just 'swing' it over the clippings & leave them.

I do if they are the right age. I would have to check the rings on your toenails to know if they are sufficiently aged. I have one toenail clipping in the shape of the baby Jesus. I am thinking of putting it on ebay.
