There have been a number, but I am unsure of most of them.

Certainly in recent years -- Margaret Thatcher when Britain went to war to Argentinia over the Faulkens.

Golda Meir was the Israeli Prime Minister during a major conflict period.

In Vietnam there were two occasions when women led the rebellions against the Chinese Rulers. On one occasion it was two sisters that led the rebellion whilst an individual women led on the other occasion. I just tried checking the dates in my books, but could not locate them.

Quite a few. Queen Boudicca led the Iceni against the Romans. The largest pirate empire in the world was led by the pirate queen Cheng I Sao.

a couple...not enough to set a precedent...the ones that lost arent even recorded..just the ones that managed to win one for the gipper...
