Of course, any mother would say her child ... that is without a shadow of a doubt. But I can't help being really proud of all that I have accomplished as a single mother. When my son was just little I made the decision that I was going to finish my education so that I could take care of him. (I found out I was pregnant just a few classes short of my 4 year degree.)

I gathered up my faith and strength and went back to school. With very little money and barely making ends meet I earned my Bachelor's degree and graduated Cu*m Laude. Then I went for one more year to receive my teaching credential graduating with one B short of straight A's. I then fought to get hired as a teacher when my son and I were almost homeless. As soon as I got back up on my feet, I bought a home and went back to school for my Masters degree where I earned straight A's throughout.

I am not only the first woman to earn a Masters degree in my entire family ... I am one of the only women to hold a college degree of any kind. Even when things got really tough I never gave up and gave it 100%. I have a bright future now for myself and my son ... and I am really proud of myself for not giving up or giving in.

Christmas peace to you ...

I'm just proud that I've gotten this far, I'm proud that I've become the person I am. I wouldn't change anything, but I can't say I have just one achievement that stands above the rest. I'm very happy with everything I've achieved.

Well, I took the SAT to see what kinds of scores I would get (some odd thing my parents signed me up for, since I'm not in high school yet). And I actually scored more on the reading part than my mother did when she was taking it to get into college! It was a real shocker for me...

My nursing career, because of it I was able to nurse both of my parents when they needed me. I am always called on for advice and support. I think its so sad that people in the "caring profession" are abused and often find themselves in real danger of physical attack, I just think its crazy.
