I want to know if i can use a buffing wheel attachment on my hand grinder to polish the metal on oxidized Kirby vacuums instead of using a bench buffer?

Yes you can,.... get yourself some buffing/ polishing compound it comes in paste or like bars of soap, and is available for various metals like brass, steel, aluminum, copper. etc. and should be available in good tool stores, and is not expensive, but for polishing it makes a real difference.

Sure you can! Just keep in mind that the grinder will fling off pieces of the buffing wheel in different directions that a bench grinder will, so take care of your eyes. If your interested you could also try a Mothers Polish Ball on the vacuum cleaner trim. They spin a lot slower and the Power Metal polish that Mothers sells is a lot easier to clean up after that the polish you buy in bar form.
Good Luck!
