Secure the borders, establish a WORKABLE guest worker program that doesn't turn honest workers into second-class citizens, and light a fire under the Iraqi government's butt to resolve their internal differences and start governing their own country.
Spend 200 billion dollars developing hydrogen fuel cells, so that we can kiss Middle East oil good-bye!

If you have ever listened to any President take the oath of office-----he swears first to uphold the constitution of our nation----which I believe to be his 1st priority and duty. His 2nd is to defend the country and enforce the laws passed by Congress---if these laws do not conflict with the Constitution

There's an awful lot of things that ought to be done.
But if the new President wants to tackle something very big, I would suggest that cleaning up the mess left by the current President would be a good place to start.
