Hopefully anyone that gets the honor of being
elected President understands that the main purpose
of the federal government is to uphold & protect the
Constitution, defend the nation, maintain a strong
military, enforce our borders & immigration laws and
maintain a strong & diverse intelligence program which
may at times include interrogating enemy combatants
through things like sleep deprevation, hunger, water
boarding, etc. I'm sure most Americans, including myself, do not think this is torture. Traditional torture techniques that many other countries still employ are things like rape, mutilation, dismemberment, burning, etc.
Anyone who thinks we can keep our country safe without engaging in these non-life threatening tactics is not fit to be President.

Every Republican candidate except McCain.
I'm a Dem and would never vote for any Repug, but McCain rightfully acknowledges that waterboarding is torture.
What have we become when we surrender the moral high ground and start behaving as our enemies behave with things such as torture????

I know none of the Democrats do and among the Republicans McCain opposes it and Romney is in favor
