Other than being checked for depression try to find a bright spot in the future to concentrate on. Knowing you have something coming up like retirement, vacation or a wedding can give you focus, having the event pass can cause depression until you find a new future focus. For example spend a year planning a wedding and honeymoon then you have nothing to plan when it is over, so you are let down. They you might plan to buy a house or have a baby, or finish college or change careers, have the baby start school, have the baby graduate, first grandchild. Always keep something in your future to plan for and wait for.

go see your doctor...you are probably depressed...that is very common...it is a chemical imbalance in your brain and can be cured with pills (non-addictive)...don't wait..you don't need to feel this way any longer than you have...

read the bible. you ll learn you can get peace, love and security, ask God to help you overcome anything that prevents you from loving yourself enough to love others and be happy. talk to your doctor about this as well. sometimes people can have chemical imbalances and medicine can help that as well.goodluck and ill pray for you .
