I think he's likely to get traded in the very near future. The Red Sox and Twins have still been having discussions about making a move since the Winter Meetings ended and now that Haren is off the market the Yankees have jumped right back into the fray.
The Angels have missed out on Tejada and Cabrera and might be better served to acquire Santana to bolster the pitching staff as opposed to trading away prospects for middle-tier offensive solutions.
The Red Sox still have the most compelling offer because they can include a major league ready shortstop, a move that would send newly acquired Adam Everett to a back-up, defensive replacement position which would be preferable.
The Sox may have to agree to package Lester with Ellsbury now that the Yankees are back in the mix and that should be enough to give the Sox the edge over the Yankees.
The Yankees can offer a good package, but unless they are willing to include a second high-level pitching prospect, they can't match the overall value of the Red Sox deal.

Personally, I believe that the Twins will decide Santana is too valuable to trade, at least at this time. They will probably keep him this upcoming season and will probably have to trade him next season. While that may be bad for the Twins they will have one more year with one of the greatest pitchers of this era and who knows, they might be great next season. I see Santana eventually wind up with the Yankees because the red sox will be less willing to trade as much and the Yankees will do everything they can to get Santana. Either way the Twins won't get a good deal because Santana is better than any players or deals either teams come up with.

He WILL be traded before the season starts. I can't believe how many people don't listen to what's going on but still formulate opinions. His agent has said emphaticly that Santana WILL NOT waive his no -trade clause once the season starts. So, it's either trade him now of lose him to free agency in 1 year.

i think of he will go the pink sox the two a week or 2 after new years, or the week of the commerce last date. i'm leaning in the direction of an offseason commerce, because of the fact the communities are going to desire to renowned what they have going into the season, and are going to have the desire to make some bargains afterwards to settle their lineups. i think of the twins will supply in and end santana for lester, crisp, and a few different throw in gamers. Elsbury and Buchholtz will stay in boston. the place they belong! the sox already have enormously much each and every member from their team that had the final record in baseball final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days back, and in the event that they get santana, i think of they'd smash some single season wins records as a team. purely think of, yet another good 3 hundred and sixty 5 days from beckett, cube-comfortable with a 300 and sixty 5 days of journey, and then Santana to win yet another 20+ video games. That leaves wake, Buchholtz, and Schilling to fill interior the fourth and 5th pitching slots. it is probable the final pitching team interior the heritage of baseball in case you question me.

Reportedly, Hank and Hal Steinbrenner have now decided that the Yankees are back in the running. So that club will probably trade away the future in prime minor-league talent, since the Twins do not want huge salaries coming their way.

I think if a trade were to happen this off-season he would be going to Boston, however the Yankees could make an offer that the twins might per fer, now the team that I would like to see acquire him is the Astros, if they offer Hunter Pence I think the Twins would agree to the trade!

I have a feeling he wont be traded.
Then again, I think realistically. The Twins NEED to get a deal done because they dont have the money to keep Santana after this season and need to trade for him no matter what.
I think it will be to the Yankees.

I have a feeling he wont be traded this off season. No team can seem to please the Twins with the offers they have.
Maybe by the trade deadline

he totally gets traded
only three teams have enough to give up and can afford to pay him that's the angels, yankees and red sox
the yankees are overvaluing their prospects
the red sox are just reluctant to package too many of their top prospects
the angels claim they aren't interested, but could jump in at any minute
