Love does happen in true life. It's just a lot more complicated than it is in fairy tales. There are misunderstandings and messes and arguments. There are problems to be worked out. There are tense issues to be resolved. There is a lot of work that must go into it.

I don't think that is true at all. Though fairy tales are not realistic. And, it takes work for a relationship to survive. Both parties need to be invested in it and be willing to communicate clearly. If there are problems here, go talk with someone to work on this.

The love in fairy tales is more like a mutual crush.

True, enduring love is mutual respect, shared interests and goals, compromise, sharing chores, good times and bad times. Real life is not a fairy tale. I wouldn't want it to be. Neither should you.

Sounds like something from that Monkees song "I'm A Believer."

"I thought love was something found in fairy tales..."

The first line of it, anyway. Can't remember all the rest.

Anyway, how do you know it can't happen in true life?

If you want love and to be loved, you've got to first show love to others and, ultimately, to yourself. It first begins with you! Because if you can't love yourself and show love to others, how can you expect to receive it in kind?

because reality isnt the same as fantasy.reality is how things really are.fantasy is the way we want things to be.in fantasy, everything is ideal.in reality, life just isnt fair.people in fairy tales dont hurt or mistreat each other.in reality, people hurt each other all the time.and love is so difficult to come by.because people are imperfect and we let each other down.in fantasy, none of that is present.because we control our own destiny.in reality,we dont control what happens to us.it sux.life sux.and love sux.too bad the fantasy cant be the reality.its way better than anything this world has to offer,in my opinion.

Because we want it and desire it so bad, that we have to dream about it, make movies about it, tell stories so that it makes life more bearable. I think love is love there is no such thing as "true love," love is love, it comes and goes, it's changes shape, it's fluid.

because men and women are not controllable like puppets. However, stories are written and planned way before they even hit the page. Besides, men and women are so very different, it's a wonder we can stand each other for a moment.
