Who said it was practice for the future? I heard it was preparation for the future, but never practice. You can't really practice for something that doesn't have a definite path. You can try to prepare, but some fail, hence the dropout rate.

i hear that question too often...practice makes you better at something...not perfect...so school tries to prepare and help you succeed in the future even though we don't know what may come in the future...the person that came up with "practice makes perfect" probably thought it sounded catchy or something...
