i am looking to get a new processor for my computer can any motherboard handle any processor, i have a pentium 4 2.8 and i am looking to get a core 2 duo 3.0 ghz so can any motherbord handle that?

nope, you gotta make sure the CPU fits in the socket of your motherboard. That processor migggghhhht work because Intel uses the LGA 775 socket very frequently.

Just make sure that motherboard natively supports 1333mHz fsb. Motherboards based on the X38, P35, G33, G31 chipsets support 1333mHz fsb. Older chipsets support 1333mHz but in overclocking mode only.

Definitely not, all cup's require the correct motherboard.

If you tell us what your motherboard is we can tell you what cpu's it will support.

Cpu's can be completely different in their pin layout and voltage requirements.
