"Oil men" are not interested in reducing the price of oil.

If they were decent, they would and they could. Bush and Cheney should be doing it. They know we are hurting out here with these horrible oil and gas prices.

Who would you vote for? I couldn't name a soul. We've been asking for an alternative fuel since the 60's. Oil has caused us continual grief. No one that you vote for listens to the people. They say what we want to hear and then they get up there and do as they want for the guys that padded their pockets.

Government is so big now that we can't support it. They keep creating new government like Homeland Security and we can't pay the bill.

First of all, Blogs ARE NOT reliable sources for any type of information unless you are reporting on what peoples' opinions are. Second, because the president and VP are major share-holders by no means gives them the power to determine oil prices.
Prices are set by OPEC which is mostly foreign controlled. Actually Bush did try to do all he could to reduce oil prices by calling for congress to unblock the moratorium on drilling in Anwar Alaska. Democrats in congress largely refused, so now you should be blaming them for the high prices. Do you realize how much it costs to import oil that is already artificially inflated? If we produced our own oil- which we have the means to- the U.S. Market could set its own price. Also the cost of transporting it halfway around the world is eliminated.

I was under the impression that OPEC dictates the price of crude oil, not the White House.

The Administration will lower the price around the election time, but raise it again if a Democrat is elected unless they lose their power to screw up the country

I am convinced that these people are not interested how regular people live. Privileged people always have a cushion (they make money when the prices are up, and save money when the prices are down) our living situations mean nothing to them.

No, they only care about making the friends in the Oil Biz as much money as they possibly can. They don't care about the average American and how much we pay for a gallon of gas. They only care about their rich friends getting richer. The odds are against the poor and middle class and slanted in favor of those at the top. You are under the illusion that the Government has your best interests in mind.

They are out to help the Corporations and the ultra wealthy.

firstly, the big oil people wouldn't be very interested in lowering oil prices, and if by some freak of nature chance that they do, i wouldn't be surprised if they shot up some more to a new peak after the "drop"...next you should look up the enron loophole

Why would they want to reduce prices? They are doing everything possible to keep the prices artificially high.
