When an NFL team goes up for sale and is sold does it go with the stadium also?

No the individual stadium is owned by the local government. They use the stadium to entice perspective owners to move to their city. I live near Nashville and the stadium here belongs to the city of Nashville not the Titans. Certain companies buy the rights to name the stadium, but it is not owned by the team. When the stadium is torn down or needs repair the city, state and taxpayer foots that bill. However, there are clauses in the contract with the Titans for example that helps the city with some of the bill.

There are however a few stadiums owned by the team, i.e. Rich Stadium is owned by the Buffalo Bills if I am not mistaken. In that case the owner could do with the stadium whatever they please unless there was a clause in the contract stating otherwise.

Only if the stadium is owned by the team...Most of the time, the stadium is owned by the city or state by way of taxpayer money...

They could be but it is not that common any more because most stadiums are not owned by the team.

Yeah...

They have to put the stadium on wheels and tow it to the new city. (sarcasm)

C'mon, how would they sell the stadium when it's almost impossible to move? They would most likely sell the team separately and sell the stadium to a local team or tear it down.
