Im all for second chances. That doesn't mean I support what he did, or that its ok that he gets a second chance when all the innocent dogs didn't. I wish there was some way that some of the $ he will be making in the NFL (again) has to go to the care of the dogs that were saved or something. If only for that constant reminder of what he did. I guess looking at it, if one of these football players had to get a job in the real world what would an employer say with a background check? I also want to add if Goodell wants to crack down like he says he will then he needs to stop giving 3rd, 4th & 5th chances.

He wasn't the only one caught to begin with. The others help turn State's evidence. They too were punished.
It is one thing to kill animals for food or for self defense. It is another thing to do it for amusement.
If you ever had a pet dog, you would understand their faithfullness, their love, and the enjoyment they can provide.
I know of no one that fights dogs. If I did, I would turn them in. Most of the other people I know would do the same thing.
I would like to think that you'd do the same thing.
I abhor the things that Vick did, and because of it, he should not be allowed to return to a position of being looked up to as a football hero. He had an obligation to lead a clean life as a role model for children and he thought he was above it.
I'm sure that he is sorry now, but it is too late. After he serves his time, he may get back into ball, if he does, I hope that he realizes the affect he has on the young children and straightens out his life.

I would hope that he wouldn't be allowed to play pro ball anymore..He was looked up to by many people and children..I wouldn't want my son looking up to a cruel person like that..What he did was cruel and inhumane..Dogs (all animals) have feelings and hurt too..I know of nobody who would even consider fighting dogs and if I ever found out about somebody, friend or not, doing it I would be the first to turn them in..Even if he plays the " I'm sorry card" which they all do when they get caught..I don't think he should be allowed back..And the team that takes him back IF he is allowed will hopefully lose a large fan base and realize their mistake and get rid of him..

He not only killed, tortured and abused dogs, he broke the law. Dogfighting, and gambling on it are illegal activities. He also lied to the authorities, and denied his involvement. He obstructed justice. I'd hate to see him back in the NFL. He's a disgrace, and not someone I'd want to put in a position, where a child would look up to him.

Not me. And I doubt whether he ever steps foot on an NFL field again. Any team that would take him would have to be ready for all the attached publicity; I am guessing no team will take that gamble for a guy who (let's not forget) was just an average QB at best whose hype far exceeded his play.

He will play in the NFL again because there is always a sorry time that will pick up a player that was on top of their game example dolphins(Ricky Williams).

absolutely, as long as he pays his debt to society who are we to think that the man can not make a living doing what he wants. The man made a mistake and now has 23 months to think about how stupid it. Think about all the mistakes we have made and not been punished for.

I know no one who would stoop so low as to make dogs fight each other for their lives. If I did, I would expect them to be banned from all professional sports (among other things).
