Scratch work?

I was just wondering how the hell does Scratch 1.2.1 work I got it and have tried forever to get it to work and do not know how so how do you do it.

I have no idea what this (Scratch 1.2.1) is and i have never heard of it...
Maybe if you didn't think we all knew and you could provide more info???
