So I just washed these new PJ pants for the first time and I put them in the dryer for about 8 minutes before I remembered that the tag said to hang them to dry. Will 8 minutes in there ruin the fabric? I had them on the delicate cycle, not regular (which I think would be hotter). If it helps to know they're pure cotton.

Thanks guys.

The danger is in stretching the fabric out of shape or shrinking as it dries.

If it isn't stretched out of shape and it was still wet when it came out of the dryer you should be fine.

I usually tumble dry my shrinkable cotton clothes for ten minutes and then hang them to dry. It's never been a problem.

I think you caught them in time! Good save! The big test is - do they still fit? I'm pretty sure that they do. Enjoy the feel of cotton.
