Mainly because of print time lag, the prices are usually "out of date" by the time you get the mag. I just looked at my last 2 issues and at least 50% showed a price or a price range. The ones that don't are the "special" build computers, such as Allienware that build to your specs.

There's a delay between the time the magazine is finalized and goes to print, and when it's printed and in stores or delivered to you. Computer prices change pretty fast (when a generation is six months, that tends to happen!) In that time, they frequently drop, and the magazine is out of date -- if you then compare those prices to what you see in stores, they'll likely look high and you won't buy them, when actually they may have dropped in the meantime and still be quite comparable.

because the prices are subject to so much change that printing prices in thousands of mags isn't piratical that's why the give you their web address and phone numbers
