I am a true Cali girl, but I got into an amazing school Virginia. I have this amazing opportunity but I'm not sure what to do. I'm afraid to move away but I'm also afraid that if I give it up I'm losing the best opportunity I could ask for. I've never been to Virginia and know no one. Can anyone give advice who either made this decision or has friends who have. Thank you!!!

Ugh, don't pay attention to Ranto. He has given his opinion of the schools, which is just that: opinion.

I will advise you that you are in for a bit of a culture shock. Virginia as a whole is a bit more conservitive than California. Also, there is not as much of a party scene/night life as there is in LA or San Diego. What you do have is a small town and plenty of mountains. However, I also beleive that it is good for you to experience that things are different in different places. Not every place is like California, just the same as not every place is like Chigago or not every place is like New York.

I suggest that you try to visit the area and see if you like it. If you have the opportunity to go to Liberty, and that is your thing, I suggest that you do so. I will warn you that Liberty is founded on the Christian faith so you will be required to adhere to standards.

Good luck!

Does Lynchburg have any amazing opportunities? I mean other than being in the middle of nowhere?

If you are going to Randolph college -- then you have chosen a decent liberal arts college & could have a good opportunity. It has a decent reputation -- but lots of California schools would be better.

Bot the other schools in Lynchburg don't really seem to offer much in the way of opportuinities. If you are thinking about one of the following, my advice is to stay in California.

It has:

Liberty University -- which is an academically challenged Christian Fundamentalist college that employers will not respect;

Lynchburg College, which is a third tier regional school that employers will not respect

Virginia University of Lynchburg, which is an Historically Black seminary that might be OK if you want to be a pastor in a Southern Baptist church.

Sounds to me like Buffalo or Syracuse. i'm from Pittsburgh and that i understand that the quantity of snow that they get is outrageous. additionally, Colorado, Utah, and areas of Nevada and California have super winters and summers. no longer that i'm attempting to talk up Pittsburgh, yet our winters are enormously heavy and our regularly occurring temp in summer season is seventy 8 ranges. it certainly relies upon what you delight in doing. in case you delight in snowboarding, visit Colorado or Utah.
