Benguet is nice because the weather is very good year round. generally colder than the rest of the country. Its major city is baguio, a very cosmopolitan city. La Union is an hour away, so you can also enjoy the beaches when you drive down to either Bauang, Agoo, or San fernando, all in La Union. Best of both worlds.

If there is one province that is cold year round in the Philippines, it is Benguet. I like Benguet more than La Union because the former aside from the climate has the best commercial and residential options for a retiree. Choices of houses are endless, mountain breeze is free everyday, your favorite fastfoods back home are aplenty and other international food vary. No NPAs here

i've lived in baguio for quite some time and i really loved it here cuz of the weather.. almost everything you'll need is in baguio, lots of good places to go to, diverse choice of food and etc. there are no NPAs there..
