what would happen to it?

If it's real "Play Doh" you're referring to, not sure that much would happen to it. It might get a bit harder since a little of the water may be driven off, but it would probably just get warm. You could try it but you certainly don't want to run a microwave with anything inside that doesn't have *enough* water in it to interact with the microwaves, or you could damage the unit.

If it's "modeling clay" you're referring to though, the heavy kind that kids always played with before Play Doh came along, it's made from different stuff and will melt in the oven anyway... perhaps also after some time in the microwave.

Personally, I've never tried nor do I want to. Best case scenario, it will harden. Worst, it will explode.
