You need to have your dad get it checked by a physician. It is quite possibly a hematoma. This is caused when, during a venipuncture (blood draw) the needle goes through the vein. Causing a collection of blood, or hematoma. It should be monitored and possibly treated.

im a phlebotomist (i take peoples blood) did he use that arm or lift anything heavy for about 2 hours after? Normally if you do it can cause bruising. Bruising normally goes down within a week of the blood test, if not you should consult your doctor. I have had many blood test where it has bruised all my arm but if its getting worst, go to your gp, the vein may of been pulled before it had healed

It can be normal. If you had the blood drawn near the bend of the arm, and immediately bent your arm instead of keeping it straight after the blood was drawn you are guaranteed a bruise. Remember that there is a thing called "gravity"...as funny as it sounds that does effect bruises, so if it is traveling towards his hand, then it is normal. I have had it happen to me before with giving blood, and with surgeries, and I did ask a doctor, and they said there is nothing to be worried about.

Definitely. At least to put your minds at rest, phone up your doctor or local health centre.

Some people are sensitive and have reactions to needles or vaccinations. Personally, I was one of those who never had reactions but you are always warned before hand, so some poeple do have reactions.

Put your minds at rest and go and see someone, however do not think the worst :)

People don't normally bruise that much from a standard blood draw. I would be concerned.
