Does everybody only have one? If you saw this person, would you fall in love at first sight? Or does love at first sight not exist? Please do explain yourself. Remember, there is no wrong answer. ;)

Well, that would make life soooo easy, wouldn't it.

Yes, and no.

I do believe people are capable of attaining "soulmate" status with their partners--that emotional intimacy that everyone craves deep down.

I do believe in "love at first sight" too--but I can explain that away knowing the power of pheremones... This chemistry is the easy part.

The kicker, the trick, is that the the two souls, once they have found each other, have to figure out how to grow **together** and not apart, for the rest of their lives.

That's the hard part.

Hey!

Define soul.

I do NOT believe in love at first sight. I believe in chemistry. Because humans are just chemical machines that shoot off a cocktail of chemicals in your body that make what we call 'emotions' and 'logical thinking'. You can be deeply attracted to a person at first sight, because their chemical makeup compliments your own. But not 'in love'.

Now, I do believe that some people's personalities can mesh so well as to make them seem as two halves of one person. But soulmates? No. I don't believe in that. Destiny isn't real. There are things in the universe that we can't control or understand that do influence our lives. But it isn't fate. It's just things outside our control.

Anyway, that's all what I believe. What you believe is entirely up to you.

Luv ya,
Tashi :)

P.S. Educated people DO NOT know that there isn't a higher power or a God out there. I happen to be an educated person, and I believe in God. I, also, happen to be a smart person, which is no where near the same thing as an educated one, and I can see plain as day that there is no possibility that the universe came about by pure happenstance. SOMETHING made it. It's too complicated and perfectly balanced to not have been designed. You cannot tell me that a few atoms meshed together and created a perfect and balanced nature.

And as for God and a higher power having to do with soulmates...I believe God made our chemical make-ups to work best with other chemical make-ups. It's just logical!

Everyone has one; some just choose not to find theirs. Not everyone needs a significant other some people are better off alone. And love at first sight is just BS. There is lust at first sight but love should/is about more than just plain good looks.

I belive that who you are can cause you to love a certain person. I don't belive you soul can recognize a connection in a certain person, but that your mind, chemical makeup(hormones and such) and your feelings and experiences can connect you to someone in a way that will keep you together through life.
I am with the person that I met when I was 13, First crush..first love...we were apart for years, and I always said when he came back we would be together no matter what happened in my life in between, because we connected that long ago.

We are now going on our fourth year together with a 3 year old little girl!

Not only do I have a soulmate, I have an entire soul family, part of whom incarnated with me to help out in this life and part of whom stayed "home" to help from the other side.

I believe that the "perfect one" for everyone is out there, but it is up to the person to find them. Some sadly never do, or even more sadly, end up with the wrong person.

I used to believe I have one.. but not anymore.. I guess I got tired of waiting, or maybe I turned slightly more skeptical about it... anyway.. right now, I believe that whoever you think is the one for you, then you think he/she is your soul mate. Its a matter of perspective really.. whatever you believe to be is..

Yes I believe I have a soul mate. She shares my bed every night and we both wake in the morning knowing we have a mate who's soul matches ours. We are blessed.

I married Mine!!!
After 33 years of marriage we are still happy.
We know what each other is going to say. We want the same things at the same time. We work together, and spend the rest of the time together.
Yeah I knew we would be married, before we started dating.
