Computer is brand new...parts are brand new...I built it myself. Just finished building it today and when I turned it on it shut itself down. Sometimes it will last for 5 minutes, sometimes for 30 seconds. Although I have seen a pattern...whenever I try to boot from CD it will usually shut down. I have not even had a chance to install the OS yet.

i had a problem similar to this too. i had good fans and a new computer. my problem was my power switch: the actual button i used to turn on my computer. open ur computer up and find the wires where the power switch plugs to a mother board. start your computer up and wait a few seconds till its on then unplug the power switch from the mother bored. continue to use your computer and if theres no shut down then you just need a new power switch.
hope this helps!
