Do you think Kosovo should stay as part of Serbia or be granted independence and recognition as a separate country?

On the one hand it is populated by 90% Albanians who want independence and to be separated from Serbia, but Serbs recognise it as an important part of their country and as their historical heartland.

What do you reckon?

Have you ever heard about this albanian saying: you talk about something it's on your doorstep.

Kosovo deserves its independence.

Yes the US got it's Independence in 1776 but in 1865 we had a civil war between the states, the north against the south, the south wanted to secede from the Union so they could keep slavery, they lost the war. Russia and Serbia do not want to break up the union that's why their pissed. I for one don't give a dam what Kosovo dose, if the people of Kosovo can win their Independence that's great, they United States has recognized Kosovo's Independence, so has Germany, France, and Britain.

so is this how it works....

people move into a country, gradually become the largest group and then start demanding independence (in other words ownership) of the country, and with any luck expelling the original population.....?

if that is true.....parts of UK are ripe for independence?

no - if they want to be Albanians they should go back to Albania......

why split up a country for the benefit of one group over the other?

albania is a country already - maybe the albanians could go/stay there?

i suppose it will be reduced to a religious battle in some quarters.....

kosovo is very much a part of Serbia, handing it Independence will be a victory to Islamic terrorists and will act as a blue print to the rest of western Europe. how long before Bradford or Leicester seek Independence from England.

Independence. They will never be loyal to Serbia so to remain part of it against their will would seem ludricous. The Serbs wanteth too much. Pride above common sense, a recipe for disaster.
PS. how do you find the single life?
