how should i format disk?

im trying to burn Ubuntu to a disk and was wondering what file system that i should to format the disk

if you mean to a CD don't format it at all .... just burn the iso file ... it will take care of itself ... and it's not just a matter of "copying" the file to the CD ...you need to use the special .iso burning tool

i believe ur trying to burn into a blank CD, there's no need to format the CD, but if it's not a RW CD then u can't use it at all :)
