I have a Samsung 19" LCD flatscreen.

I just can't get this one particular aspect to my liking.

When I am doing emails or filling in boxes on different sites, the boxes at the top where addresses/subjects etc are typed in are too faint to make out.

I have to guess where to click and see if the cursor starts blinking to know if I'm on the actual line or not.

What do I adjust for that? I can't seem to adjust the proper thing.

Thanks.

try right click on your desk top, properties, and change appearance or settings, that might help.

Adjust the brightness and contrast controls - alternatively if you are doing design or imaging you need to calibrate and then profile your monitor with special equipment which is available from good photo stores such as the Monaco Optix or Spyder.
