May is a great time to travel any where in the Caribbean or Mexico. Prices are lower, the weather is lovely, after spring break and just the perfect month.

enjoy)

Yes it is a good time to go. Cuba is great pretty much all year round and the water is magnificent. I've been in different parts of Cuba but I love Cayo Coco and I totally recommend Cayo Coco because it's just awesome there. But everywhere in Cuba you find gorgeous beaches and calm water.
However, Cayo Coco is a rather calm beach and May is a nice time of year to go. The water is warm and clear...it's a beautiful turquoise and powder white sand.
The sea will always have some waves at times (because it is the ocean). But Cayo Coco is on the Atlantic side and it's peaceful there. If you love water and you love swimming, you can honestly be in that water all day long. I always was!

Hope you find a great deal.

Are you from America? You may not be, but americans are banned from Cuba. But to answer your ?.... I was in PR in April of last year and it was beautiful (PR is right next to Cuba).. So yes, you will have nice weather, but the ocean will never be wave free.. the beach in PR actually have pretty decent size waves... you would have to look for smaller beaches if you don't want waves.. Magens bay of St. Thomas has very little to no waves at all because it's more of a cove. Maybe that is a better idea if you want calm water

It's a great time to go, it's off season so sell off prices should be very low. No guarantees on wave free but it's before hurricane season so chances are the weather should be excellent. You can check previous years at the site below and subscribe to a newsletter on selloffvacations.com. I should mention I just returned home on Friday from Cuba and sure wish I was still there.

In May, the temperatures are higher, and there are fewer visitors, but you are before the start of hurricane season.
