I thought your blonde comment was a bit ignorant and rude, so I'm not sure if you'll understand my answer, but here it is...
There will most likely not be a third world war. The UN was established specifically to prevent world wars. They seem to be doing a good job so far. If we cannot forsee a world war happening, how could we possibly forsee the outcome?
Also, what does this have to do with philosophy of all things?

There will be a world war three but only under the dominion of a one government world. When planet earth is finally at the state of one government controlling everything then war will break out and only at the last possible moment of no return will mankind be stopped from total annihilation. The brakes on our own extermination will come about by a force we do not recognize nor believe.
So I would say that yes we would see a lot of the world left after world war three.

There's already a war going on - between us and the environment, and there won't be a world left soon.
PS I'm blonde and I've got a degree.

Einstein famously said: "I don't know what weapons they will use for World War III, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
(that just about sums it up)

Sure but not a world that any of us are used to. Some people will survive (Paranoid people that built bomb shelters, people who hid in remote deserts/forest/icelands), but once the fighting is over people will die from disiese, lack of food, radiation e.c.t. It will really be a survival of the fitest.

This planet wasn´t meant to be self destructed.
All the "scratches" on the surface caused by humans will be self healed.
Destruction will come from the outside.

No, ther won't be any left (and don't believe in stupidities like the "Jericho" series...)
But there won't be any WWIII, except if some islamist fools push the button, and even then we can protect ourselves more than "they" would think.
(is this my conviction, or wishful thinking I don't know but we have to keep our morale up in some way)
