We have made great strides towards eliminating racial tensions in today's society, however, we are still not free from prejudice and discrimination. What more needs to be done to ease these tensions or, perhaps, totally eliminate them?

It is so much easier to blame racial tension than to take responsibility for your own actions, or lack thereof. Anti-anything is usually brought about by those on the receiving end of the discrimination. Demanding respect does not work, for a homosexual, female, black, hispanic, white, or anyone else. It needs to be earned.

people need to be accept that apart from our physical apperance we are all humans and all equal.I don't think education will be enough because alot of people are aware of that. it's a matter of accepting the truth and some people just can't do that and those are the people who are insecure and feel the urge to make a different human being feel inferior and insignificant to the world. The truth hurts and honestly, prejudice, racialism, tribalism, etc. are one those prolems that people need to face themselves personally. You might have a different opinion and i respect that but this is what i think. Thanx for caring.

People need to see different races. I live in Wisconsin and most of the people are ignorant. Some just automatically say "I can't go to Chicago or I'll get shot." We NEED more education. Just like we need to convince people to be open-minded and not use "gay" as an insult. It's completely unnecessary to not allow men to marry men or women to marry women.

how do you get a man who thinks red headed woman are gross to fall madly in love with one? it won't happen. same deal here...it can't be done.. another example would be, how can i, a person with curtious driving habits, admire someone who drives like a crazed weasel??? i can't...i never will..you could educate me till the day i die but it won't change my opinion of red heads or bad drivers...

It is not going to happen until the Lord returns. Violence and wars will escalate until then.

The majority needs to stand up for the minority. Whites need to publicly denounce racism. Men need to publicly denounce sexism. Heterosexuals need to publicly denounce homophobia.
