Good question. Honestly, I don't know.

If the guy is straight, he'll probably think things about you and may want to take it to another level, or maybe not.

Watch the movie "When Harry Met Sally". In it, the character Harry says that men and women can never be friends because the sex thing always gets in the way.

I'm a woman, and find myself falling for guys who may not strike me as handsome in the beginning, but then grow on me. I doubt that happens for men, but, no matter -- either direction, there's more intimate feelings that seem to surface over time.

Well, yes and no. I don't think you can be best bud's like you can with a woman, sad but true I believe. But you can certainly maintain some kind of good, platonic relationship with a man.
I think a certain line must be maintained or else romantic feelings will start to develop. Your feelings will tell you where this line is, if you listen to them. Usually, too much one on one time, long phone conversations and such lead to romantic feelings automatically developing.

I have one. It depends on the guy. Some can handle just being friends others can't.
