No contest. Mario Lanza and the song would be "Be My Love". He was from my hometown of Philadelphia and died tragically young. I can remember listening to his voice when I was a pre-teen and thinking it sounded like it was coming from Heaven. The sound of his voice,even today, can thrill me like no other-even Pavoratti. Placido comes close-but there is only one Mario Lanza.
