"In his remarks — Israel's harshest criticism yet of the U.S. (intell) report — Avi Dichter said the assessment also cast doubt on American intelligence in general..."

How long will the US continue be used by this nation? They chose to start a country at their present location and build illegal settlements in the Gaza Strip. Why should the US have to protect them from the consequences of their own choices?
It is only a small percentage of Israeli extremists that decided to build settlements and then cry for protection from the Palestinian extremists. I suggest allowing both sides of troublemaking extremists to kill each other so the moderates can get on with their lives. Meanwhile, the US should stop being manipulated by ALL nations (mainly Saudi and Israel). Your thoughts please.

consrgre (below) No. YOU said that as with all neo-cons who cannot focus on a simple question right in front of their eyes.
How about answering the question versus a lame attempt at putting words in my mouth?

Steelegr... (below) also, I have always viewed their "Democracy" as Carter points out in his book that Israel's government is based on 'Apartheid'.

The statement itself sounds just as politically motivated as anything Ahmadinejad has said minus the religious connotations. Sounds like a little kid whining to his big brother that the other kids on the block are going to beat him up. The complete reversal of position by the intelligence community has me wondering if the earlier report was in some way politically motivated.
Have you noticed CHI how Israel seems to enjoy near universal protection from criticism as government officials seem to cower in fear of the anti-semite label. Talk about playing a race card. Our own American citizens seem to fear this as well despite being able to freely express anti civil rights sentiments that could easily be interpreted as rascist. Its almost as if the holocaust now gives Israel and American Jews carte blanche authority to do and say as they please without oversight or criticism. I don't buy it. I understand oppression. I'm black so I've had first hand experience. But slavery does not give me blanket protection from criticism and we should feel free to criticize the Israel policy as well where we see flaws in it.

Yes, what a viewpoint. One Israeli official criticizes the US intelligence report and you view that as "Israel meddling in US affairs". Why the h___ is Israel not allowed to comment on anything USA does, especially if it is on something that directly affects it?
Are they not allowed to do that?
And you have yet to explain why building settlements is considered extremism. These settlements do not displace a single Arab and they do not bother anyone. Yet, you, in a display of thoughtless moral equivalence, make a comparison between that and the Palestinian extremists, whose exact nature of extremism is actually "killing Jews".
But then again, this isn't the first (or probably last) thoughtless question you have posted here, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

I just finished reading the Dichter piece and I felt the hair raise up on the back of my neck. I'm so tired of Likud interfering in our foreign policy.
As for the NIE, this is a different CIA. They have a long history of fudging data to fit their own agenda; no Cuban military presence on the Bay of Pigs, Iranians LOVE the Shah, WMDs in Iraq, Iran's actively pursuing nuclear weapons (yellowcake in Nigeria). If a new and improved CIA is trying to report the data without an agenda, that's commendable.
Critically, and I'm not the first to say this, if Israel has intel that shows Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons technology they'd, they'd release that intel. They haven't.
Ah yes, the Palestinian West Bank settlements. Illegal towns being built by extreme Zionists with the full support and assistance of the Israeli govt. Hard to return to pre-1967 borders with thousands of Israelis living on Palestinian land. Israel doesn't allow The PA enough power to control Palestian 'freedom fighters', yet requires the PA to stop all attacks on Israel by those fighters as a precondition of peace talks.
Ready for another dog & pony show, everyone?

A Muslim friend of mine (yeah I know amazing) pointed something out to me recently. Obviously it is a bit anti-Semitic.
While Jews make up 1.4% of our population they make up 13% of our senate and 6% of the house of reps.
Almost 20% of President Bush's revolving staff at any one time have been Jewish.
Most of the major banks in this country are controlled by Jews.
If you watch the debates for either party you will never hear a candidate speak out against Isreal, even Ron Paul. They all talk about how we have to protect Isreal.
I used to think that was because they are the only "democracy" in the region, now I'm not so sure.
Edited: Carter is full of crap bro. Every nation has in its history a period of conquest. Isreal just happens to be a younger nation. The Palestinians have no inherit right to the land anymore than I have a right to the house I grew up in. I'm not concerned with Isreal's Middle East policy, I am concerned with how the "Christians" in our government submit to the control of god's "chosen people".

First of there are citizens of this country who view the US and there US citizen ship as secondary to there support of Israel, no matter what. Some of these people even hold elected office and allot of these people are very very wealthy and are able to buy allot of our straw men/women, (politicians). to vote for what ever Israel wants no matter what it may cost the US, blood/money.
While the rest of us who can't afford the straw people have to stand by and watch in the only country we care about, US, while it's being sold out to Israel and it's needs.
In this Iraq war business there is only one country who has benefited, Israel got there destabilized Iraq and are wetting there pants for the US to do the same in Iran.

Why are you so upset? Israel is a peaceful nation that has endured many attacks such as that of Yom Kippur, as mentioned in your article...for some reason the Arab brethren to the Palestinians and Iran do not give enough economic aid to their people in the strip...yet their fanatical approach to the doctrine has them publicly blame Israel for their own internal woes...Israel deserves to live in peace...as does the Muslim population...but lets be clear...the Arab states are responsible for providing wealth and health to their people...and the USA provides security for Israel. It's the whole Hebrew/Christian faith relationship, both of which have had to fight tooth and nail to keep the historic nations of Arabic/Islamic rule at bay. Israel is correct when assessing the threat level of Iran...listen to the Iranian President's rhetoric. He all but calls for them to disappear.

That's THE most STUPIDEST thing EVER said about those 2 !!! They didn't keep us safe from anybody. There's a lot of fishy tails when it comes to Bush and Silverstein that owned the Twin Towers. Why would Silverstein, George's friend, a couple months just before 9/11 take out insurance for his towers and have a clause for terrorism attacks ? WTF is that shyt !! Those 2 used fear mongering to go against OUR Constitution and should be held accountable for there actions detrimental to the USA and its people. Besides only brain washed neocons watch Faux News....what a joke !!
