my friend put the wrong name on the back of a hoodie that was a gift to her friend =[
I've heard about goo gone and ironing it at high temperatures.
Has anyone ever tried this and had success?

If it's a FLEECE garment it's unlikely. If it's a typical cotton or blend natural fabric, your chances are better.

Obviously once you safely get the worng one off, it seems logical to do another; correct one in that spot, over any OOPS that happens.

To directly answer your Q, No I haven't. I also suspect Goo Gone won't be very effective. GOOF OFF might be better, but that should be tested for color removal.
