Warren Moon easily was a better QB. Doug Williams was good for a little while that passed on into no mans land. Warren Moon played far more years than Doug Williams. It was rather unfortunate that Moon ended up in Houston. And then the Vikings floundered in the playoffs of 1998. They went into the playoffs 15-1. Survived the first round in the playoffs and to lose in the second round. But still, Moon was far better than Williams on any day of the week. Look up their stats.

RE:
Doug Williams more deserving of the football hall of fame than Warren Moon?
Warren Moon was the first black qb inducted into the football hall of fame, but he never won a superbowl. He won 5 grey cups in the canadian league, but the canadian league is equivalent to the arena league. Doug Williams won a superbowl and was superbowl mvp. Give me reasons why you think Moon or...

If I recall correctly Williams only played that game because the skins qb was injured. One great game does not make you an all time great which one should be in order to be in the Hall. Warren Moon had a very good football career with the UofW then in the NFL and proved to be worthy of the recognition. Williams played a great game but all athletes at all levels can relate with his play on that day. I personally remember basketball games that I played in where I could throw anything up and it was going in and I am sure you can recall such a day in your own life!

Doug was on some totally bad bad teams and that in itself hurt his career as much as the superbowl mvp should have helped it he did not go to disney whatever whereas Warren came from canada when their league was more legit before the nfl watered down by addin teams led to the wildest times in the nfl the run and shoot it was like playing at the park everyone scored or touched the ball so the qb got good stats out of it everywhere he went he led offenses down the field and himself into the record books so Warren has to be the one Doug would have to be the Buck O'Neil on this one

Considering they have the same age and played in the same era. Just look at the number comparison.
Williams: 100 TD, 93 INT, 16998 yards 49.5 completion %, 884 rushing yards and 15 rushing TD
Moon: 291 TD, 233 INT, 49325 yards 58.4 completion %, 1736 rushing yards and 22 rushing TD
Career numbers are the biggest reason why Moon is more deserving.
Yes, Doug Williams won a ring, but the Redskins had a great line and wide receivers. They were so great that other 2 QB (Theisman was awesome, but Rypien was average) won rings in a 10 year span.

Hall of Fame~ is Doug Williams not historically famous~ he is the first and only QB to win the damn Super Bowl~ how can you separate the history of the status of a Super Bowl win from fame! Marion and Moon should not be in there since Doug is not~ nd there are many other players who should not be in there while Doug is not! History is History my man~ and he will be there forever~ Hall of Fame or not , he is LOL Famous~as they come~

You ever hear of a CAREER? People KNOW Moon, and if I am not mistaken if you add his CFL numbers to his NFL numbers he is the all time pass yards leader. If Doug Williams didn't win the Superbowl and become the answer to a trivia question who would know who he is? Redskin fans and that is about it. Most NFL fans would still recognize Moon for the great career. It isn't his fault he had to go to the CFL first. He was shorter then wanted and Black. So he had to PROVE himself. The CFL ISN'T the equivalent of the Arena league either. Espically back when he played in it. Also I wouldn't care if it was, because 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS is still impressive. Are you just mad that no NFL QB has 5 Championships in the NFL? So you think you need to run down another league as inferior because someone did it in that league and then become a good QB in the NFL. Seriously though he wasn't on great teams, but every true NFL knows he was.

Look at what they had to work with through there careers as far as surrounding talent and coaches. Also it is the pro football hall of fame not the nfl hall of fame so his canadian work counts almost equally. Finally, look at there entire careers. You can definately say Williams had a higher peak but moon definately had a more sustained high plateau

everyone else has posted career stats for each so i won't bother but, i don't understand why people think that Super Bowl Rings should equal induction to the HOF.
the Super Bowl is won by teams. not one time in the history of the game has one man got his team to or won a Super Bowl. it is a team effort.
the Hall of Fame is based on individual stats. you can argue that it takes a team to help them get those stats but do you think that Matt Cassel would be putting up the numbers Brady is this year?
the Hall of Fame has nothing to do w/ Super Bowl Rings. if that was the case Dan Marino would not be in & Trent Dilfer will be getting a pretty coat & a bust in his honor.
i'd like to think that we are beyond judging people by color of skin. you matched 2 gentlemen of the same race & don't understand why.
