Which one is better for graduate work in fluid dynamics. Cornell or Stanford ?

Stanford is better -- but not by much. Both are top ten engineering schools.

If you can get into them, you ought to be thinking about MIT, Cal Tech and Berkeley as well.

I don't think you can go wrong with both, start looking into what research you will be doing and be apart of at both and make your decision from there, start talking to the professors so you know somebody.
