Grinch. I'm an atheist and I don't believe in giving. Everyone should work hard for what they want, and if someone didn't want it badly enough to work for it, you really think they'll want it as a gift? The whole thing falls apart after that. It's one thing to go back to the origins and see a family or community sharing food so that everyone survives the rest of the winter, but that's assuming everyone in the village is a hard worker and it's only random circumstance that has left certain people hungry while others have extra, and next year could be the opposite. Lazy people aren't getting my leftovers.

Neither ... I'm a Christmas mouse who is married to another Christmas mouse. We don't 'celebrate' Christmas with our families, but do things like go to a movie and then eat nothing but hors d'oeuvres for Christmas dinner, just the two of us. We do the 'celebrating' on 'normal days' with families ... they can 'celebrate' with their OTHER families on Christmas and KNOW that we aren't 'offended' and we are ALL happier. Christmas is a RELIGIOUS celebration to us, but we go to Midnight Mass, so our 'Christmas Day is just 'relaxed, quiet, and just the two of us' ...
