Usually personal experience gives us our opinions, and when we show extreme like or dislike for a specific view/belief it is based on our unique make-up of past experiences. There are always antagonistic types who play on other's strong beliefs to try to stir up an issue, and often it seems like they have no idea what the whole picture is, nor do they care. Their motive is to see how much trouble they can cause.

First of all alot of times those choosing sides have no buisness having opions or getting involved at all as most of the time it has nothing to do with them. Many times people have a lack of empathy which causes them to only see part of a situation and base an opinion prior to getting all the facts. Quite frankly if it dosnt involve you directly than worry about your own affairs instead of the affairs of those around you.

This is so true, i coach 4-5th garde basketball...After our win tuesday night, parents from the other team said we were playing to ruff.....Made comments like, we were playing football and hockey...Everyone from our team, parents included....thought the other team was just as bad or worse.
I never said a word...It looked like both teams were the same.
I never argued with anyone, nor did i agree....I took what i thought and went on with my biz. Most people have their mind made up before they see or hear anything....Ready to judge before it begins

Most people take only one side because they don't stop to think of all ramifications of the side they've chosen...and the side they've chosen against!

I am a 'devil's advocate'...I will purposely see the side I'm against...that way has led me to, thankfully, change a few decisions I was about to make!
