I want to know do I change 3 1/8 to 3.125, if this is wrong what do I do?

That appears to be correct.
1/8 is 0.125

So 3.125 X 30 is 93.75

Then 3 1/8% of 30 is 0.9375

Remember the % sign means 'per 100'

if this is the complete question then it is asking for three and one eighth' of 30. so yes, divide 30 by 3.125 to get the answer. however, not really seen it written it like this. check previous questions to see if you're being led to a certain answer.

30 times 3.125 or 30 times .03125
=.9375

make it an improper fraction or just fin the button that loks like a comma and type in 3, 1/8

Using a calculator, yes change it but don't forget the % sign - multiply by 0.03125.
