I picked up a used Cole 4 drawer filing cabinet. I was able to lock the drawers with the key by pushing in the cylinder but it will not pop back out when trying to unlock. Any ideas?

If the key does not turn, you may have the wrong key. You don't need a key to lock the drawers, only to unlock it. If you can, check with who you bought it from to see if they might have the correct key. If not, call a locksmith or drill the lock out.

If the key DOES turn but the button does not pop out, try spraying around the edge of the button with a little WD-40.

Just drill out the cylinder and replace it. It is the least frustrating course of action.

drill it out and buy a new lock for about 5 bucks at a locksmith place.

It might just be gummed up. Spray some WD-40 into it.
