To me christmas means being with family and friends. Having a real christmas sprit lit within us giving a time for peace and love. Santa coming down the chiminey to give the gift of generosity ans kindness in the form of toys or presents. Giving cards and gifts to everyone to show them how much I care about them and love them.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, God the Son.

The angel said to them,

"Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger."

And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:

"Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."

(Luke 2:10-14)

With love in Christ.

A time when every bad thought and feeling is forgot. A whole day when me and my brother don't fight. A time when my family can eat a civilised meal in peace and truly appreciate each others' prescence. An opportunity to catch my boyfriend under the mistletoe!

Christmas evolved from the pre-Christian Winter Solstice celebrations. So for me - it's merely the solstice wearing new clothes. It's a time to share goodwill with others, to spend time with family and friends, celebrate the warmth of family and a time to welcome back the sun (resurrected) and prepare for longer days and shorter nights.
