We have a very old dog named Droopy. He has cried and cried because of his leg. Droopy has hurt his back leg somehow and it has permentley dameged it. We think Droopy might have a tumor. He is a beagle/basset hound. He's overweight too. He will not eat or take his meds. He will not come when you call him. He is in pain we know. The vet has given him a lot drugs but many of them do not work. Should we put him down?

About 30 minutes ago we put him down. They said it was his time to go. He seemed relieved to go. Thanks for your help everyone!

on each and every occasion it is getting no exhilaration from existence. If pronounced canine is satisfied and residing a soreness-unfastened existence, by making use of all ability save it alive. organic dying is purely that: organic, yet because of the fact that while has nature continually been correct? it is organic for a wild canine to lie loss of existence after coming off worse after a combat with yet another animal, yet this isn't the wild, this is society and if we be able to place any animal out of its distress promptly than i'm worried approximately it. Vaccinations are unnatural.. would you no longer vaccinate your canine because of the fact of ailments which include distemper and parvo, that are killers whether they are organic? i won't be able to believe each and every physique would somewhat see an previous, unwell canine it is obviously depressing and in soreness save residing purely because of the fact dying is taking its good candy time to attain the undesirable animal. Why no longer speed up the inevitable and permit the animal to pass, because of the fact it is available to? human beings can decide to end their lives by making use of ability of euthaniasia now in some areas of the international. yet human beings have voices and would say while they have had sufficient. i'm confident many canines would decide to end their lives in the event that they'd voice their thoughts, yet they can't, so it is as much as their canine's proprietor to make that selection for them. think of of it like this: if the canine became into able to tell you it needed its existence to end because of the fact there became into no wish of its condition recovering, would it not? If the respond is confident, it needs to PTS. i believe it is humankind's pastime to comprehend that nature is imperfect and to do our ultimate to extra healthful the gaps while an animal is suffering. upload: there is not any distinction interior the mechanics - your strikes reasons the canine's existence to end and that's the tip of it - yet there is going to be a extensive distinction between the justifications. Euthanasia is an act of compassion yet I fail to verify how killing a canine by making use of the different ability is.

As hard as it is, and I have been there, I would ask the vet straight out what is the best thing for Droopy. Best of Luck.

poor thing. i know what a hard decision that is, i recently had to put one of my beloved cats to sleep. she was near death though and had no hope of any sort of life. i start crying just to think of it.. anyway, i would ask your vets advise. he or she will be honest with you and tell you what is the kindest thing to do. with my cat, i thought i could just let her die at home, i thought it would happen fast and peaceful. but it wasn't, her heart was good and she would have suffered for several more days. for me, having a pet put to sleep is the hardest thing i've ever had to do, and i've had to do it a few times. please consult your vet before you make any decision.

It's such a hard decision to euthanise a much loved pet. However, if he's suffering and cannot be healed, it's the kindest way to go. Bless your heart! I know it hurts.

If he is in pain and nothing seems to help, yes, I would put him to sleep. I could not stand to see my dog suffer. He is crying because he is hurting.

You're not doing him any favors by keeping him alive. Have him put down, be there when it happens and tell him you love him, and goodbye.
That's what I did for our cat. Good luck.
