My books are sci-fi, mystery, adventure and ghost stories. I advertise on free ads and google book partner and any place I can get an add cheap or free. I get lots of hits but no sales and the material can be downloaded or bought in print the downloads sell for $1.88 to $4.38 so should be cheap enough for anyone to buy but sales are very slow. Would appreciate any advice on how to stimulate interest or increase sales which are in the toilet right now.

If you have your own website, It is just a matter of getting enough traffic to your site, you should expect about 1 out of 100 people who visit your site to make a purchase if your getting that you just need more traffic.

If you don't have your own site think about getting one it will definitely help.

check out www.firstinforeview.com there is a link on that page for free traffic called instant buzz.

good luck

try viral advertising. Make a fun video about yourself and post it on Google Video and Youtube.

Any way you can post maybe a couple chapters of your books, so people would have a better idea of what they're buying?

Good luck.

You need to hire a writer that specializes in copywriting that will generate more business for you. Take a look at these sales letters -- they make you want to buy:
