you've got to hide your love away - John Lennon always said this was his attempt to write a Bob Dylan song. I feel this tune is less dated than 'Help" even though they are the same age!
Love em both though.

p.s. Why do people insist on nominating a third song in questions like this (not this question particularly but others like this)?
If you don't like the songs nominated by the asker , don't answer the question !!

Help. However, in my view it's mostly starting in 66 that the Beatles really got good. I like their early stuff, but albums like Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is great, and the "White Album" is my personal favorite.

You've got to jide your live away is a great song...

"Here I stand head in hand
Turn my face to the wall
If she?s gone I can?t go on
Feelin? two-foot small"

This song is all about a love that was never meant to be,
obviously a crush on a girl that is unavailable, or was available, but was lost for one reason or another.

"Everywhere people stare
Each and every day
I can see them laugh at me
And I hear them say
Hey you?ve got to hide your love away
Hey you?ve got to hide your love away "

This bit tells how everyone knows about his feelings, and think that he's foolish for hanging on to something for so long.

"How could I even try
I can never win
Hearing them, seeing them
In the state I?m in"

He doesn't understand as to why he is holding on to this girl that is long gone, and is obviously depressed about the fact.

"How could she say to me
Love will find a way
Gather round all you clowns
Let me hear you say
Hey you?ve got to hide your love away
Hey you?ve got to hide your love away"

Here the girl is, as lightly as possible, telling him that things will never work out between them, but will eventually work out somehow or another. However, he still can't shake the fact that everything everyone has told him was totally right, and that he was wrong to love her in the first place

I think that Help! is better. It always gets me singing when it comes on! I just got Help! (the movie) and I've already watched it a ton! I love it! ;D
