gift for our boss. This year one employee made the statement, "When they give me a raise, I'll give you some money, but no raise - no money". Another employee said, "No, I don't have the money" then went out and purchased and expensive gift for the boss on his own. A major brown-nosing tactic in my opinion. How do you handle people like this. Do we include their names on the card anyway, or leave them off? There are several of us, so if the names are left off, it will probably never be noticed anyway. Advice?

I would not include their names at all. If they don't give money don't include them. If each person signs their own name, maybe the boss WILL notice. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

I think it's great that you thought enough of your boss to even buy him / her a Christmas present. And just know that you live with your choices in life, if you feel good about what you did then that's the most important thing. This is the time of year for giving . I hope that it made you feel good about yourself. Just think of the millions of people who have no one to give them anything or no one to talk to.

there is always some people in the crowd to make things difficult. I have been in this situation. i let them sign the card. I figure if they didn't want to wish there boss a merry Christmas then they won't sign it either.. so i would pass the card around and see if they are willing to sign it

Hey man, Well i always done the nice thing and put there names on there any way, but then the boss told me I was to nice " go figure lol, I didn't know there was such a thing ". I would put there names on there just to keep the conflict down, and Hard feelings, I'm sure your boss knows who chipped in and who didn't, because you don't want no one losing there job or having hard feelings this time of the year. Don't you just love the brown noser lol, When you walk past him/her just rub your nose I do that all the time, they think your kidding when actually your not lol. My mom and Dad always told me to kill-em with kindness.

let them sign the card...you all know what really happened and who gave money and the ones that "didn't" have the money.
