I'd say not. To avoid this happening to your new one,leave the door open after use. If you're really fussy,then wipe it dry after each use,helps to prevent the peeling............

I don't believe this is wise to use, so I suggest you buy a new microwave, the peelings could fall into your food and you could ingest the flakes that could be a health hazard, paint is not safe. Good Luck !

no it is not safe, the paint will continue to flake and peel and eventually the magentron will arc inside the cavity causing greater damage and burn marks not to mention a pretty cool lightning storm inside your microve, get rid of it micros are not that expensive nowdays,, .......... from the maytag dude in phoenix

What's under the paint? If it's some type of protective material, you're ok, but otherwise I'd spring for a new one. They're pretty cheap nowdays. I'd love to have a micro/convection combination!

Yea - I used my old one like that for a while. Its only a cosmetic coating really. Bits used to come off when I gave it a good clean though!!
