i mailed out a Christmas present to a friend who lives out of state. i went to USPS online and i got the postage rate. i know i put enough stamps on it and a return address. and i know i wrote the right address for my friend. it went out last Saturday. and he says he hasn't got it yet. what are the chances of mail being stolen before reaching its final destination? what are the chances of the mail lady dropping it or losing it in the truck? could the holidays be slowing it down? i've never sent something this time of year like this. i sent something to the same place in November and he got it.

Chances are slim that they would lose it or that it would get stolen, but it depends on your neighborhood. Postal workers are unlikely to steal mail, because they would be risking a very good paying job and it's too easy to get caught. I have, however, had a paycheck that was routed incorrectly, and instead of taking the usual 2 days to get to me, it took 3 weeks.

It's probably just the holiday. With all the online shopping and Christmas cards mail will be slow.

Yes, this is now the peak holiday mailing "crunch time" so check again with him...today.
It took a week for me to get a small package that was sent less than 100 miles away!

I used to grant infinite possibilities and elegance why i substitute into continuously getting stepped on and used. I infrequently supply something extra desirable than a 2nd hazard except you're an extremely close and depended on confidant.
