Usually my cycle is 31-33 days and today is day 37 so I guess I'm about 5 days late. What could be causing this?
I'm definitely not pregnant, so please don't suggest that.
I can think of a few things that might be causing it.
1) I got a flu shot about two weeks ago. I don't think that would affect anything, but maybe...?
2) I have about a million projects due right now in school and I failed my last two calculus quizzes. Plus, when my period is late I get really worried that something's wrong, so I'm pretty much a nervous wreck.
3) About a month ago (around the time of my last period) I got a pretty nasty cold and was sick for a couple of weeks. Since then I've had a cough that won't go away.
4) When there starts to be less daylight, I start to get kind of depressed.
5) There's been lots of Christmas goodies in my house, so I might have gained some weight... :-P
Are any of these legitimate causes?

Also, my breats have really been sore today and yesterday, like I'm going to get my period, but I haven't gotten it yet.
Oh and I've had my period for about seven and a half years, so it should be regular by now right?
And will my period come eventually? Or will I just skip this entire month and get it next month?
Sorry for so many questions, I just get myself so stressed out. Thanks in advance.

The same thing happened to me last cycle. I think it was because I was already worried about being late, and I wanted it to come so bad. My breasts were sore and my acne was acting up and I had backaches, all the symptoms I get before my period. But for some reason, it was delayed. I asked my doctor and she said she wasn't sure. Eventually though, it came.
Hah, sorry for rambling. I hope I gave you some reassurance?

Cycles can be variable (between 20 to 45 days is normal), for any of the reasons you mentioned and more. Or for none of them. Don't know what you mean by "legitimate causes" --- whatever the cause is the cause and "legitimate" has no meaning.
If you haven't been having unprotected sex, why worry about it? It will come when it comes and nothing you do or think about will make any difference. Even if you have been having unprotected sex, if you are pregnant, you are pregnant and worrying will not change it.

any change in your body can be a possible cause...since you have been stressed lately that could be the reason...also if you have changed the ammount of physical activity you've been doing, that coudl be the reason...i always stop from about feburary to late june during track season because im running more than the other months (even though im not distance) i know of this happening to other friends too such as bball players, and soccer players...but any change like that could be the reason

This happens to me also. I've missed my period for up to 7 months at a time , but its usually two months skipped. My doctor says am not ovulating that why i do get my period on a monthly basis . the only way to regulate my period is to get on birth control. May be this could be your same situation . go to your doctor and get check.

Your nervousness and the cold could definitely be a cause for a late or missed period. You may miss this month altogether or it could just be late..

I think it is the stress factors. Stress can make your periods crazy (start early, start late, heavy flow, very light flow). Not to worry, it WILL come.

Well if you have never had sex, then you definitely aren't pregnant. But if you've had sex, protection or not, period or not, you could be pregnant.
If you've never had sex though, it could be stress, or it could be something with your health.
