Liquid. It is already dissolved. Powdered used to leave some powdery residue on clothes from time to time. You can use liquid directly on stains, then wash as usual.

I use liquid. But I do believe powdered detergents do a better job, they are just so messy to use.

MsShonnie.....how do you make your own laundry soap, interesting, i've never heard of that.

I use liquid mostly because I have a septic tank and powder detergents can solidify in the drain field, shortening the life of the system.

I would say powder...it dissolves as it cleans the clothes, the liquid just mixes into the water

I've used both for years. Personally, the liquid is better as it dissolves into the water much quicker. Quicker dissolve times means cleaner clothes.

Well actually I prefer my own homemade laundry soap, it performs better than the commercial type soaps and is less expensive

Liquid, the powdered won't dissolve too good and will leave marks on my clothes, i don't wash my clothes too hot.
