My husband and I are spending a bit more this year ... but not that much more. Last year, I spent $300 to buy him a new desk chair (the cat had torn up his last one, and he can't sit on leather as I do), and this year he spent $300 to buy me an 'e-Reader' ... but the 'other stuff' cost more than last year. We have a 'reasonably good income' this year for the first time, though, so we are being a bit 'indulgent' ... but a few things, like a new couch and an HDTV will be bought sometime early NEXT YEAR when the sales are on ... but I did buy my husband a 'really ugly sweater' (he LOVES it and is the one who chose it) that was marked $135, and when I paid for it the 'total' was UNDER $74 ... so that was a 'great sale' I didn't know about ... I just wanted to get him a new sweater he loves and wants to wear, and now he's got one all wrapped and ready!

I have not finished my shopping yet....but it is looking as though I may spend a little less than usual....which is contrary to my expectations. I thought I would probably be spending about the same amount I always spend....but the lists my family have given me this year seem to have some quite inexpensive items on them.

We spend less money and more time together each year celebrating the true meaning of Christmas together...
We concentrate on being together and give a few simple things to each other....
The cost does not matter its the "Giving" that counts..
We also give alot of homemade gifts that take up our Time and love to make...
One year my hubby made me the most beautiful Adirondack chair..i loved the fact he put his time and talent into it...
Our son has made the nicest gifts also that I still have to this day....
Another thing I love is my husbands and son's homemade drawn and colored Christmas cards not the store bought ones..I have saved all of them....
Think simple and make the memories of this Christmas the best!!!!!

We spent at least $300 dollars more but we also have our daughter to buy for this year and both our Dh and my families. It's our daughter's first Christmas and we went a Bit overboard....

Idk, in all probability on the subject of an analogous. My relatives's decrease-center classification, so we actually don't have countless money besides, yet with the financial equipment being what it extremely is, my mum and dad are extremely attempting to make this a large small Christmas. yet howdy, I have been given a job, I oftentimes spend approximately $a hundred on all of them each 12 months, it incredibly is in all probability what i will spend this 12 months. they'd't end me. :)

I can't understand why people keep this tradition going on.It's not a rule to spend just because it's Christmas. If I want something I get it now and don't wait for Christmas or whatever else.

I budgeted and did not have as many to buy for this year so I think that I spend less.
