Kei Igawa.
Chien-Ming Wang is a great pitcher who has hi off days sometimes. He almost became the first 20-game winner had he won against Josh Beckett that one game. Igawa, on the otherhand, hasn't been muchuse for the Yankees...except for being bad. I'd take Wang over Igawa any day.

I went to a game at Yankee last season, was sitting about eight rows up from the home on-deck circle, so I had a pretty good view of Igawa on the mound and Posada catching.

Igawa was awful, had no command whatsoever. Could only hit the strike zone by good fortune, and even then only one pitch in a row. He wasn't so terrible for the first two innings, but fell apart after that; that the Yankees were holding a lead is, I'm sure, the only reason Torre let him go out for the fifth, to try for the W (which he didn't get, for his own efforts and several others', though the Yankees won the game). At one point -- luckily for the Yanks, with no one on base -- he let fly a pitch that sailed into the backstop. It was above the level of the batter's helmet; Posada didn't even bother trying to stand up.

Now, I have a hard time believing he's THAT bad without injuries factoring in; but his success within MLB has been, shall we say, highly limited, and on this one night he had nothing whatsoever.

If some time in the minors with good coaches can straighten him out, that'd be a good thing; if not, or if he is injured, the Yankees should consider sinking this sunk cost.

Not that I wish the Yankees to win more, but this performance by Igawa was embarrassing, and that's never fun to watch.

your out of your strategies, and that i don't propose to be harsh yet so you might heavily ask this question then you definately could lack wisdom of baseball / Yankees. Wang is without doubt one in all the terrific pitchers in baseball, non the fewer the Yankees ace. Wangs #'s - 37-15 3.sixty 8 era (could be goin down after todays game hes pitching a 6 inning shutout so far) additionally Wang has been ranked right 3 i've got self assurance when you consider that he first began pitching in 2005 in floor ball outs. Igawa's #'s - 2-2 with a 6.ninety 8 era. The japan stats dont remember...they don't play in Japan anymore subsequently those stats propose not something. Igawa isn't an outstanding pitcher, he became into the Yankees answer to the pink sox for Matsuzaka. Im a large Yankees fan and that i became into indignant while they signed Igawa, as a results of fact he became into purely a rebuttle to the Sox who have been given payed wayyy to lots $. Wang > Igawa

Wang had a pretty good year and looks like a major league player.
Kei Igawa was a wash most of the year and didn't help the team at all, I'm not sure he is a player at the major league level. I'll be kind and say he has to work on a few things before he can make it in the majors.

C'mon are you actually asking this question? No you can't be. Kei Igawa already left back to Japan yesterday. Chien Ming Wang is amazing! Look at his record! He's gonna have atleast 2 Cy Youngs in his career if not more.

I can`t believe some of the questions people ask. I guess they just want to see what kind of response they will get.
So to answer this peanut brain question Igawa is the one to go. Why would you not want to keep Wang two straight 19 game win seasons are you for real.

There's not even a legitimate argument for choosing to drop Wang over Igawa...

I'm a Dodger fan...but clearly you have to drop Igawa, Wang is a Cy Young type of pitcher man.

I would rather have Chein-Ming Wang on the Yankees. They should get rid of Igawa.
